June 2022 Newsletter
Summer is back!
Happy Father’s Day to all the DADs! Do not forget to fly your American flag on the 14th in honor of our country, our troops and our precious freedom!
Flag Day falls within National Flag Week, a time when Americans reflect on the foundations of the nation’s freedom. The flag of the United States represents freedom and has been an enduring symbol of the country’s ideals since its early days. During both events, Americans also remember their loyalty to the nation, reaffirm their belief in liberty and justice, and observe the nation’s unity. God Bless America!
June is Dysphagia Awareness Month!
A month to raise awareness of the impact dysphagia has on individuals and their loved ones, and the often-under-recognized diagnosis in our healthcare system. Join us this month to help raise awareness, learn more, and support one another. Let this be a month to recognize and celebrate the advances towards better treatment for those impacted by swallowing disorders. How are you helping recognize dysphagia awareness month? The best way to celebrate this month is to educate and advocate! Don’t forget to spread the news throughout social media and use #dysphagiaawareness so all can be aware of this debilitating disorder. DiagnosTEX Fax number
Our phone line carrier, has not been meeting our business needs especially in regards to the fax line and has been less than effective in fixing a fax issue related to our 817-514-6271 number. At this time, we would recommend faxing any and all paperwork to the number 888-920-1201 or email to Katie@diagnostex.us or Ashlea@diagnostex.us. We apologize for the inconvenience because it is definitely an inconvenience for all of us. We wish the carrier would do their job properly and fix the issue more promptly without the run around we are being given which in turn affects all of our customers unnecessarily.
DiagnosTEX Summer Schedule
DiagnosTEX has decided to run vans Monday through Thursday as usual and some Fridays through the summer months into early Fall (September – October). This will be for a season and not a long-term change in our schedule, in order to meet the upcoming summer need of our referrals and patients.
FUN! FUN! FUN!
So excited to see everyone last month at the DTEX CE conference! We saw so many people we have missed and not seen since before COVID. Felt SO good to be back in person with all of you in one room! Thank you to all who attended! SO MUCH FUN! Thank you to Lisa Milliken, Paul Haefner, and Celeste Larkins and Rick McAdoo for taking time out their busy schedules to speak at the conference! Top class people with so much knowledge to share! Also, a big congratulations to Lisa on her elected new role as TSHA president!
All of the evaluation forms were shared with speakers and they were beyond excited at the comments and high scores! Thank you! This meant a lot to Celeste as this has been the largest group she has presented to since her stroke. As always there were just a few comments on the evaluation forms I would like to address. DiagnosTEX puts these conferences on for little to no cost to attendee at around $25.00-$50.00 for 8 CE’s. A free lunch is a very large budget item for DTEX for 50+ people and we could no way meet everyone’s diet or taste preference and we would not even try. We have tried this before and people started calling us with specific menu items and since we are not catering business 😊 this became way to complicated. As for the number of bathroom stalls, LOL! I agree but also out of our control in regards to how many bathrooms stalls the hotel has. We pick a location whose price for rental of the room we can budget appropriately, availability on the date all speakers were available, close to our office location in the Mid Cities for setting up and tearing down convenience, again since we are charging so little for the CE’s and we make this cost efficient for you and us. The Holiday Inn Express and Amiee Anderson, event manager, has been so good to us over the years, there is a definite level of trust and loyalty there between us both. Despite lack of variety in our free lunch and us adding more bathroom stalls, we hope everyone had a great time. We can’t wait til next time! Stay tuned!
